No success :(

I've taken out the old sensor. Of course it wouldn't budge so I took off the brake caliper and wheel bearing hub. Reassembled all and : orange bloody lamp still on :(

It's strange. Tried the old wheel arm I got with a different but in good order Teves sensor. This one DID make make the dash light go out before... it doesn't do this anymore, STRANGE!!. So maybe in the mean time another sensor is faulty now too????:) Dunno, another day tomorrow...I'll have to start measuring the other sensors....

I did have an idea: If I take apart Turby Durby and sell all the parts on EBAY, including 2 or maybe even 3 Bendix sensors PLUS the rest of the car: I can buy Charles XM without ABS :) :) and get it resprayed in Blue and maybe have enough left to buy a yacht in Monaco! :)

Do not forget that replacing an ABS component does not remove the fault record in the ABS ECU.
You may also need to wipe with a LEXIA or run the car above ABS cut off speed for some miles without faults until the ECU clears the old fault record.

 that's if you can prise it away from him Jaap. It think he is rather smitten with it!

That's rotten luck with the sensor. I hope another hasn't gone phut...that really isn't funny. You know what they say, things happen in three's.... ;)

Interesting development here.

I've changed the sensor once again for the next one. But the warning light stays on. However: the ABS WORKS!! I've tried it here on our little mucky gravel road at least a dozen times and there's no doubt it's working. As in the other thread my ORGA is 6729 so I have the old old Bendix system but it does say Siemens on the original and now replaced sensor.

So, I'm fixed but not for the warning light? I'll take off the battery for a while and see if that will reset the ABS sensor, probably won't work with this car but..

Jaap, it'll be interesting to Lexia it right now and view and clear the stored faults. You have a Lexia don't you?

Well done Jaap, :D so they do work on a Bendix system then. ;)
Let's hope the ECU clears and tricks the light to go out. This is very interesting.

Shame you can't get a little box of tricks to make the light independant of the whole system and fake the correct flashing test sequence and stay off, to get through the MOT. Naughty though!

What exactly happens with the light, it should perform a self test.

I have one but not really. That is I played with it sitting in my garage with my PC (PC-not laptop..) and couldn't get it working. I got so frustrated since I do not like computers that don't do what I tell them to, I gave up.

Did disconnect the battery while servicing the rest of the car but that didn't help.

@ Dieselman, it still does perform the self test and the light comes back on straight away.

@ Russ, test is in May, I should have some time for that still :)

I wonder what year Turby was build with ORGA 6729

The lamp coming straight on indicates the sensor is out of acceptable resistance range.

I just measured on the big plug on the ABS computer, all 3 good sensors measuring 2.57 and number left rear: nothing?????????????????????????????????????? Car is not on ramps now, but did see the plug and it is still connected. Bizar, but it's still working, the ABS....This should be impossible as far as I see it...
