I can never understand why people like to cause damage to other peoples cars. such a selfish thing to do.
Its also pointless reporting damage to the police as they don't seem interested.

Neil I share your frustration and anger. Why can't people leave cars alone... Drunk idiots probably.
I have got of lightly so far with only a drivers windscreen wiper being bent right back on itself. but I think also it's bent the spindle slightly so what ever new wiper arm is put on, it won't sit flat. And the original wiper won't go back to its original shape, no matter how hard I try.

The C5 had someone punch a dent on the middle of the c pillar one night.
The Renault 21 had someone take a rear door out with a bike pedal.

Mindless little gits!

Unfortunately it's an issue with clamshell doors like the Xantia and ford escort mk4's. If you notice now, most modern cars have moved away from that design, and have flush fitting door tops tucked nicely under the cantrail.
I only hope XM ones are more difficult with the bonded quarter light.

My guess says someone attempted to gain entry to the car.

That's how car thieves break into cars with those types of door design. So yeah, I would agree. You were lucky Neil they didn't get in.

I did as you suggested Paul, and it has brought the top edge back to something like, but it shows up the gap in the centre of the door. Don't get me wrong, it's not a huge gap but it is noticeable to me. The rubber strip between window and metal is now stuck out about 1/4 inch but the wind noise has gone so I can live with that. A damn sight quicker, and cheaper, fix than Alan's going to have with that windscreen. Bastards!!

Waste of time. They'll be too busy sat in the station callyfudging the other reports to make the figures look as though they're actually doing something.

About time you took up drinking, then you'd have an excuse.
