IF you do go LPG it will need to be a Multi Point Setup, the PRV 24 has a habit of spit back which can blow up the inlet manifold.

Im sure the rocker cover will come off in situ, after prehaps moveing the top Radiator hose out of the way, it just comes over the spark plug guide tubes..

But essentially, yes, unbolt, remove.

The PRV was NEVER designed with any gaskets, its all instant sealeant on all mating faces!

I put a single point LPG on this one of mine, but it blew the intake pipe up a few times! Hence the Black Tape.



I decided, as its a part time car now, or shows only, that its perfectly fine on Petrol!

Hi Damjan and welcome to the Forum. It is great to see another S1 24v and such a late example as you state! I am another PRV V6 enthusiast in the UK with both 12v and 24v in my fleet, including two lhd drive cars! Despite what Paul says, the PRV 24v is rare anywhere and I believe there are actually now more than ten or twelve roadworthy cars over here at least, with some four being lhd. The modified 2963cc PRV engine was introduced for the 1994 Model Year.
So all V6-24v production from July 1993 got this later engine.

If I will go LPG, I will put only multipoint sequential system. But then again, it's second car, so probably not worth going LPG.

So mine is then for sure 2963. That means that data in my Registration Certificate is incorrect as it says 2975

Check the ORGA number between the hinges on the drivers door pillar.
If you quote it here someone will convert it to build completion day.
Some XM's have been found to take a very long time from factory to getting registered for the road.

Citroen did make some mistakes with car registration details.
Some years ago I went and purchased a green 1992 V6 estate for a friend.
The registration certificate described the car as a V6-24v.
Now that would have been a very unusual XM.
Sadly the engine was a few valves short.

Being a 1994 is probably really on of the last S1.5. It is ORGA 6282 - 20. January1994. For sure, it is the last one sold here in Slovenia.

Mine also has later (UKZ, 2963ccm) engine fitted. Modified SKZ engines (modified ceramic tappets) were fitted from 15. October 1991 (ORGA 5454). Later engine (UKZ, 2963ccm) were fitted from model year 1994, that means 1. July 1993, ORGA 6049.

@Eddie: Yes. In fact, I answered my own question. But as John said that S2 24V UKZ PRV has oil dipstick in other position, I thought I might than have earlier engine.

I rechecked my registration certificate and it says UKZ (later engine), but data about displacement is incorrect - probably due to Citroen mistake.

Some XM's have been found to take a very long time from factory to getting registered for the road.

It also seems to be true in my case. First registration date is more than one year after production date - 24.05.1995

Hi Zan.

For the short beam, I suspect you mean as we call it, headlamp dip beam, that is likely to be the relay mounted behind the left headlamp. Either the relay, or the socket it fits into.

A/c could be the relay mounted on the front of the Ecu box on the right inner wing.
It could be more involved, we need to know what what exactly happens.
You should be able to read codes from the climate control system

I can't see the original images, but suspect the unusual levers on the seats, mentioned in the early posts, are the seatbelt pre-tensioner locks, which are service items only and are meant to be removed in operation, otherwise the pre-tensioner can't operate: Probably sorted after six years though...

As an ongoing reference, it's useful if you add your car details into your signature.
RP 6282 makes it a very late Series 1, let alone V6-24.
