Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

My first XM was an auto with this engine and spec, and although I found it just a little slow it really switched me on to the model. This being a manual, with the likely improvement in performance and economy over the auto is very tempting.

'Fraid I'm ignorant on this score: is an ex-Mr Andrew's car a good or a bad thing?! Must admit to being tempted myself as the manual 16V is quite a bit faster (and more economical) than the auto which I've driven and was indeed a bit sluggish. Not my favourite colour, though. Have PM'd the vendor to ask condition of interior and underside, but no reply... yet!
Why don't we do it in the road?

Very good.. Its citroenmad on here. Love the xms like me. Of course that doesn't guarantee what the current owner has treated it like!

Indeed it doesn't. How long ago did the redoubtable Mr Andrews dispose of it? Either way, I'll report back on what the current vendor has to say.

Didn't attract any bids at a starting price of £1100. I asked about servicing and wasn't told of any being done in the last couple of years, probably because it was only being used infrequently and not doing many miles. A pity as I was very tempted by the low miles and knowing that when it was purchased by the current owner it will have been spot on. It's also relatively local. Still I have been saved looking for a new owner for my SED.

I also find that nowadays I seem to be put off by cars that are out of tax, it's giving the buyer another obstacle to overcome, preventing an easy purchase.

I too am put off by long-SORNed vehicles, even more so if they're out of ticket. The vendor seemed pretty ignorant of the car's history when I queried him, but if it'd had a much lower starting price, even then I would've been tempted. Shame, really. :?
