Re: These, are the voyages of the starship Turby D.
I have been trying to get rid of this 'hard clicking noise when opening and closing the doors.
Without success (Greased and oiled all hinges) I think it's the alu thing that keeps the door open. Should replacement of these things help, don't really think you can remove the inner works of those hinges in the door. Anyone who's figured this out, I'd like to hear!

Remove the two door bolts.
Remove the two nuts holding to door frame.
Push into door just enough see bracket with the nut studs.
Rotate bracket through 90 degrees.
Two options of rotation but only one of those lets the bracket slide out through the bolt slots.
Front door and rear door restrainers are different.
Fitting the wrong one on a back door stops the window glass opening.

Thankyou very much, I am going to try this! I take it those restrainers do suffer from wear.

When you get one out you will see where to put the grease.
After that you should be able to grease without removing.

Has any body ever heard of Dayco as a brand for timing belts. AEP offers a timing belt kit for the turbo diesel of this brand. But I only want the very best quality possible for this so I guess I shouldn't buy the set.

Dayco is very good, I have used their kits a few times now.

Re: These, are the voyages of the starship Turby D.
Service over due, due to too much driving:)
Nothing out of the ordinary found, ABS issue (left rear sensor) still to sort out tonight or more likely tomorrow.
The LHM change produced fairly blackened LHM eventhough this was done 15 months and +-31K ago including bleeding the brakes.
I can't remember if I gave this tip before, but I always put in a small magnet in the tank. It's happened that filters came loose in the past and this way you can at least prevent metal residue going into the system. As expected, my magnet had caught a lot of residue.
