Well...its all change at the moment...hopefully for the better :)

This Saturday will be my last day as Oldham branch manager...I've been asked to go to our Bolton branch as of Monday as its in a right state apparently and has some serious staff problems

To be fair Oldham is now fixed...its all ship shape and organised and everyone gets on and work well together and it now just needs an extrovert type to drive the sales room every day. That's not really what I do so im moving on ;)

Ive also just had a Porsche 911 book in for next sunday :D ...black of course  but im chuffed as its the first step to paying off a small debt I incurred sorting Linda's tax bill out in Jan.

Looks like you were right Will...the jobs will hopefully start rolling in now that the weather is improving ;)

Like when David Attenborough programs are on with flowers growing and stuff but maybe not that slow.

A shot every second or few seconds would make a nice video :)

If you can setup a webcam to take the scene, there is plenty of sftware available to turn it into a timelapse sequence.

Well the Porsche job has rescheduled...he will come back to me with a date

Oh well...just means I can spend the whole weekend on my cars :P

Yesterday I gave the qashqai a good wash and then gave the xm interior a good going over. Since fitting a new battery to it I can finally move it on and off the drive again without having to jump start it off and then back on again.....I ran it for ages yesterday and took it up and down the street a few times...its running so much smoother and quieter than of recent and purrs like a noisy diesel kitten

All the carpets, boot area and seats were brushed down with a stiff bristle brush then hoovered leaving them spotless :) Today its round 2.....Ill do all the plastics inside and then do the exterior and engine bay I think....the whole car will then be clean and fresh ;)

My brother in law is coming over for tea tonight and it just so happens he is a mechanic.....im going to pitch him to do the inner cv boot, change the sump gasket and give it an oil service. Im going to whack a new set of wipers on it and change the air filter then apart from the below problem she will me MOT ready :)

Problem:
The O/S/R brake light isn't working...its not the bulb holder or the bulb as ive swapped the N/S/R one over and the fault remains on that side so im presuming its not getting a feed? I don't believe its anything major but ive always had niggles with the taillamp on that side and Im crap at vehicle electrics :?

Any thoughts?...do you get problems with the multiplugs or is it likely to the the usual earth problems?

Other than that, im looking forward to the proposed changes to car taxation.....with the possibility of being able to tax your car by the day aswell as for 6 months etc. That way I can tax and insure the xm for shows and any other day I want to take it out...would probably be around £15 for the day I presume :P

Another job now that has become apparent is at some point I need to get the headliner out as its started to sag at two points after the moisture build up over winter....the cloth is perfect still but just needs to be re glued back on....

A big job?

The brake light could be the earth on that side, or a break on the feed wire.
Have you checked the push on plug onto the lamp unit, the contacts splay so lose contact.

Thanks Will,

No I haven't checked that yet as I was on my own, but that was going to be my next course of action...interesting on the contacts splaying....hopefully its that simple ;)

Hopefully it wont be a break in the wiring as it worked up to a few wereks ago and then suddenly decided (in true xm fashion) to not work :P

It pains me so much to have a car out there and not be able to use it.....I really don't understand those people who have trailer queens that never get driven, just admired and cleaned.....

Ive also added a price page onto my blog site this morning as I get so many hits but little actually take up.....this way it should sort out the window shoppers from the people who are actually committed ;)

Im getting a lot of passing interest from the mb forum but not much action im afraid.....its like being a teenager all over again

I suspect some of the passing interest from the MB forum is me Vince - I like to look to see if you've done cars recently! (I posted the link there and couldn't recall it on my own computer).
