Windscreen wanted

Does anybody have or know of an OE xm windscreen in good condition?, dont want anything delaminating or chipped.
I could get a new one but then i would have to have it tinted to match the OE which would be a pain in the bum, woul have to be well packed for courier delivery or i can collect from south of the M4 corridor as i need it fairly soon before the car goes back together.

Hi Dean

Only about half the XM's I have checked out still have OE windscreens.
Virtually all of those are showing some degree of edge delamination.
Windscreen handling is fraught with difficulties before you get to packing ready for the courier football game.
It might just be worth trying the local screen fitters.
I came across one a while ago who would try to repair cracks in classic car glass.
He used chip filling glue and a cigarette lighter.
As an alternative can you not get a screen fitter to recover one from the Ventnor hoard.

I can never get a response from him but it may be worth stopping in to see him so long as he has not scrapped them at last.
Good thinking though John, i completely forgot about him to be honest.

I didn't understand your comment about being able to buy a new one but having to get it tinted to match the OEM. Just order a tinted one. All UK Xm had tinted screens.

I had a new screen fitted last year. Ordered and fitted in three days. Do some ringing around.

Ive got one removed sitting up against the shed with a bonnet over it to protect it, and theres another with a sun strip along the top in the old SED that was destin to be removed, but with a job in the way everything has come to a stop...

The bottom two corners are quite curved, and are quite scetpitcal to easy breakage.
