We greatly enjoyed the Renault. It took us to France and back a couple of times until the kids got too big for it to be really comfortable. It was a good performer too being the 2 litre and surprisingly economical. Rarely see one today.

All 21's are rare now. A lot were exported out to other countries, Romania I think.
There was a dark maroon Savannah living round the corner from me short while ago. And an E reg 21 saloon identical to my Parents car, which i thought had long gone, is still about in really good nick too. I secretly really would like to have it for stupid nostalgia reasons!

Well, she got a proper sulk on last night!

First time out for a few days and she didn't half whinge: faulty tail lamp warning, no dash lights, dipped beam that was reluctant to come on and then to cap it all ABS not available. However being what she is we had a full and frank discussion and decided that a slight thump on the tailgate would sort the rear light issue, a wiggle of the relay would do the same for dipped beam and a little knob twirling could sort the dash lights. And a restart would cure all ABS issues.

Mardi cow - especially as she had a full tank of diesel all bar 3 miles.

Looks like I might have to give her a little love once my swollen foot stops throbbing and glowing in the dark. Given half decent weather we shall hope to be at Wetherby next week end.

Touch-wood Rob it's my Activa that regularly behaves like that. My XM seems to be fairly immune but only up to a point!

Hope the love does the trick!

Mine does the same thing Rob, they don't half get the hump when they don't get used for a bit.

Mon was complaining of Rear brake light out message every time I press the pedal, the aircon panel has been playing up a bit, and fuel gauge is a constant joke! But after a bit of use they all sort them selves out. Most of it is due to damp and rain.
Keeping a beady eye on the fuse for the aircon too. Famous for melting ect. Seems fine though. ;)

Hello Rob
The old red bus passed its MOT yesterday, no advisories, they've even given up mentioning the cracked screen. Done a fair bit of work to it the last two months, discs, brake cables, nearside bearing, steering out to replace boots and refurbish pinion valve, heater matrix, new front flexible exhaust pipe, five new spheres. Still, it deserved the attention.

By you have given it some love! That's really good to hear. I was really impressed with it as a fast load lugger, but I lack the skills to maintain and improve a previously neglected/tired car. Well done you!

I think that is almost 4 years you have had the car as I was using it to run my daughter around various cities looking at universities - she graduates in three weeks! And then resumes in September to do a masters... a top class 24 valve V6 is still some way in the distance.

On the upside, my SED continues to give me pleasure and I also enjoy my other elderly smaller French chod - an early Clio and a 1.4 ZX of the same vintage.

With multiple function electrical failings, one of the first things to check (and clean up) are the body-mounted earthing points, on the inner wings and elsewhere. Clean all mating surfaces to bare metal. Perhaps you've already done this, though.
