S1 front bumper required!

I would ideally like to replace this part on my 1989 V6, although the problem is that I need the exposed plastic section in grey rather than black, as was fitted on the very early cars. I acquired a bumper off a 'J' reg. XM but the colour is not correct, so I guess the donor car would really need to be either a 'G' or 'H', which I realise is quite a big ask! Is it possible to remove the grey / black trim Matthew, I assume it must be. I would like to get a new black front one myself.
I do know of a grey bumped car, but it's at the Weston's and I have no idea if it's a courtesy car, or a parts car, or the quality of it. I can ask tomorrow.

Many thanks for your response Russ and unfortunately the bumper is all one piece and therefore the whole thing is either grey or black plastic. It is worth noting that faded black bumpers can look very similar to grey until you put them together and especially after applying some silicone polish! If you could check out the Weston bumper I would be really grateful and also the reg. and RP of the car. With regards, Matthew T.

I know it is an early 2.1 mandarin H or G reg. Has the smaller mirror glass ect and red steering wheel badge. I will check tomorrow for you.... you never know.
I thought that might be the case it being a one piece job. My black bit has been painted with textured paint at some point, and it is now cracking and flaking off. Problem is you cant really sand it down and repaint, you'll loose the original texture. I'll leave it for now, not exactly a priority at the moment!

That does sound promising with the Weston car Russ, provided they can part with the bumper of course! On my 1989 V6 the normally exposed section had also be painted (very badly) and after stripping off the paint some nasty cracks and scratches have been revealed.
