Wanted - couple of little bits series 1.5 xm

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Wanted - couple of little bits series 1.5 xm

Post by Vince » Wed Jul 23, 2014 9:13 pm

Hi guys,

Im looking for a replacement tweeter (speaker) on my xm. I don't need the grill etc, just the small round speaker that sits beneath it ;)

I also need a front wheel arch rubber grommet from the passenger side. Its the one on the front edge of the wheel arch liner....like a rectangle with round edges :)

Can anybody help?

Thanks
Vince

Hi Paul I was hoping you'd pop up : ) Thought youd have a load  Mine broke off at the connector on the speaker..i wondered why it kept stopping working.

Ill post the grommet picture up yes, trust me you'll have one im sure ;) I think they were standard on all xm's

Hope you're well ;)

Vince, the grommets can be found in the boots of any pug 106 or saxo. I found two in a local scrapyard a few years ago. Best thing is, they will be in great condition.

There is a pair behind the rear bumper of an XM as well.

Also on the front edge of the inner wheel arch liners there is a medium sized rubber oval grommet which when removed exposes the bumper bracket etc...i could with one of those too :)
Hi Vince,

I've just taken a look on the poly-bag that they come in 5's, (I have four new ones still) and the part no's is #6988.52

For something as cheap and easily available as this there is no need but for everything else similar, we have a shop here that stores every conceivable trim clip, cable and harness fastener, trim screw, captive nut and grommet out there in the wild. You just go there with a sample and they'll find one or a dozen in one of their thousand little boxes. They don't really care what make and model it's for... You'll probably have something similar in the UK, won't you?
