Shopping list for Stratford - Now for Cosford

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Hi Mike,
Apologies for not making the Stratford Rally today, I didn't have either car working until 2:00pm and hadn't got ready myself, so deemed I would be too late.
I have the bits you want, other than the indicator and mirror switch, which I think I have somewhere, but can't find it. I might have an indicator unit if I look around.

Hi thanks for the update and no worries about your not making it - it meant I had money to spend on bits for the AX and GS, and it's not like I don't have anything else to sort on my cars!

I have bought the indicator / fog lamp unit that I was pointed to on Ebay, so it should hopefully reach me later this week.

We could always have another go at Cosford!

Thought I'd bump this up - all I've found so far is some wheel trims, so here's the rest of the list again:

Passenger side turn signal / fog light lens for a Mk1 - the fog light part of mine's busted. Will be happy to buy a complete unit. - The one I bought on ebay turned out to be for the other side!
Boost gauge sender for a 2.1TD
Passenger side front mud flap - again, I'll buy a pair if available.
Window mechanism for the rear driver's side door - I have to check exactly what I need but I've been told the window's wedged in place with a piece of wood so I'm guessing either something's become detached or a cable's failed.
Heater knob - The centre control knob (the one that sets where the air goes) didn't seem to be doing what it should, and on investigation the bit over the shaft has cracked, allowing the knob to rotate round it.
Mirror switch - it worked, then it didn't! I'll try cleaning it up but may need to swap it out.

Also:
The little strut for the glove box (yeah, I know!)
Rear wiper switch - mine works but is very worn looking.

May be able to help with some of this im bringing a couple of boxs with multiple items with me and shit loads of switchs etc.. im sure I got some spare roatry knobs.. do you still have the small metal bit that sits inside the knob where the heater shaft goes in? You might find the stifffness will be the heater box all siezing up dust on the pivots..

this has been documented by both me and I think dieselman. Mine was in the sd K reg Xm blog I did last year.

If you have a replacement knob that's easier to swap out for sure but back in BX times I repaired my knob with plastic sheets cut to size and superglue and it lasted ten years or more.

If the center part (the one sliding onto the shaft) is cracked and opened, you can glue it together and bind it with wire or cable tie until it cures. If the metal bit you mention is missing, you can put and glue small cuts of plastic sheet in its place.

Broken knob is cracked and opened at the bottom, and the metal piece is missing.

I'll look up the blog about stiff operation, thanks.
