Re: 2.0i engine or Cyl head
Shall be checking your blog in just a mo then paul!
Nope the early 122hp 8v were distributer the later ones like mine had full electronic and a blanking plate on the end of the cam where the coil pack now mounts, even tct camshafts which came along well after the distributer was killed off still have the slot in the end to drive the rotor arm.
(Edit for clarity) there is not a blanking plate on the end of the cylinder head but instead Citroen fitted a different thermostat housing which blanked the access to the camshaft and removes the R/H cam oil seal, oil leaking past the end camshaft bearing is directed into the oil return in the cylinderhead by the altered thermostat housing.

I have a spare cylinder head, ive got two spare actualy but i would want reasonable funds to part with them as they are my long term spares stash.
In the not too distant i may be buying a G reg 2.0i manual that will be broken so if that deal goes ahead i wouldnt be too bothered about parting with one but i take it you need it asap?

Dean,
Im in no hurry, the cars a long term keeper. So if the manualcomes up for breaking id be very interested in some bits from it please.

Re: 2.0i engine or Cyl head
Funny I find it.. I can keep things for years!! I removed a G reg 2.oi engine from an XM, one of my first breakups, and it sat for about three years.. I got rid of it not long ago .. but who knew..
Now, though, NOTHING XM gets discarded!

Im the same, hence running out of space, even in the rented lock ups. But its mainly 2CV/DYANE/BX/CX GSA etc. I need to start an XM stuff collection too.
