K reg 2.1 SD XM for sale in Silex

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Paul - no need to be disappointed, you are the perfect owner for this car. This year I have had to contend with my SM brake shattering event (new gearbox, driveshafts, brakes); my black XM coil packs, spark plugs, ht leads, suspension, then rusty sills; my Cosworth suspension, then air-con, then central locking and fuel pump, my Allard fuel tank and rear drums, and my policy is move things on if further problems present as soon as possible before any more money spent. In this case I'd just had a lovely drive with it back, so it just felt like being kicked hard in the balls!

It's just the grim reality that old cars and I are best off apart.

Delivered to Paul at Cosford yesterday. His V6 broke down on the way, so I caught a later train, then the connecting train I was due to catch at Brum to Reading was cancelled because of a broken down train on the line. A fitting end to my ownership!

Lol....its such a shame you had your share of troubles with her Charles....its still a good car beneath its "needs to be fixed" niggles

I ended up being the person tasked to drive it back up to Manchester today after the rally.....it performed very well 8-)

Niggles i picked up on: And they are no more than niggles....

1, The temp gauge is dead...though it does not overheat and i heard the fans kicking in so its just the gauge sender i suspect or a connection problem in the dash
2, The indicator warning comes on intermittently when indicating....like a bulb has gone....then it hasnt etc....an earth problem on the rear cluster no doubt
3, The hydractive doesnt work....I tried to manually engage it on the way home but nothing - cause unknown - still drives great
4, The front spheres are a little too soft...They handle the road ok, but on an undulating B road it can feel a little choppy
5, Its hard to see past the duck tape on the side window

Good points i particularily noticed:
1, Bodywork in good shape
2, Drives very well with no clunks or rattles
3, Interior is like new
4, Steering is super light
5, Clutch is also super light - Lighter than the Qashqai i jumped straight into one i got back
6, Gear change is a million times better than mine...very easy to select gears up and down.

Still a good car by all means and drives well...Just needs a few bugs ironing out by its new owner ;)

If you have the file there is a little buff book that my friend Mr Baker noted all that was done during his custodianship. Malcolm Savoy explained the problem with the temperature gauge there - it stopped working when the heater matrix was done.

You'll find with the headlights on if you indicate left the brake bulb warning light comes on too!

For someone who has the aptitude and the ability to run this as a weekend car, it will be lovely. I liked the soft ride and had never really noticed the lack of hydractive, but then I'm used to ropy-poly Citroens!

Just make sure you don't get the mat trapped under the clutch pedal too.

Is this in sort of temporary custody or has it found a 'proper' new home as yet?

It completely depends what a buyer intends to do..

I am NOT letting it goto anyone who has no intention of a long term keep. I want to keep the car but it might cause me a headache short term.

the car is not going to anyone who cant keep her long term or forever.

if you want to know anything further then PM me for further details.
