I drove that car yesterday and agree with what you have said.Vince wrote: Lol....its such a shame you had your share of troubles with her Charles....its still a good car beneath its "needs to be fixed" niggles
Niggles i picked up on: And they are no more than niggles....
1, The temp gauge is dead...though it does not overheat and i heard the fans kicking in so its just the gauge sender i suspect or a connection problem in the dash
2, The indicator warning comes on intermittently when indicating....like a bulb has gone....then it hasnt etc....an earth problem on the rear cluster no doubt
3, The hydractive doesnt work....I tried to manually engage it on the way home but nothing - cause unknown - still drives great
4, The front spheres are a little too soft...They handle the road ok, but on an undulating B road it can feel a little choppy
5, Its hard to see past the duck tape on the side window![]()
It needs the front jacking points welding properly, but generally the body is sound.
The window should be an easy fix, it's just come dislodged somehow.
I'm a bit perplexed by the hydractive. It appears to be hydraulically locked into soft mode, even with the ECU disconnected, but it is working electrically.
When you tried the Sport mode on your way home did the light illuminate, it did at Cosford.
Those spheres are bouncier than a kids bouncy castle and may be masking the operation of hydractive in hard mode. Either they are comfort spheres, but don't look large enough, or have had the centre dampers drilled...which is my suspicion.
I didn't notice the temperature gauge was dead, it's interesting that it happened at the time of matrix change, I wonder if some wiring got pulled.
It just needs some TLC
I didn't read the book...wasn't sure what secrets might be in it...
