XM 2.0 Petrol Wiring Loom

Post by David Hallworth » Tue Sep 30, 2014 10:12 am

Just spotted this on Gumtree. Quite a rare find and doesn't seem expensive for anyone who needs one:

No, not expensive.
Strangely it reminded me I still have an original, but used, wiring loom from a 1953 Traction Avant I restored in the early 1990s. I copied the original loom and installed that. I've considered trashing it, but it's still gathering dust on top of a cabinet in the house

Bit steep considering i dont NEED it, the main and complete engine loom was about £380 last time i asked (about 6 years ago). Can anyone check the Part number and see what 2.0 engine its for? it looks like a very small loom and may be from the earlier and far more common 2.0 R6A? engine with EFI only, i think my engine is the RFZ.

Its for pre RP 5809 and its for 2 litre with air conditioning. It also says - US 83 Depoll (engine) - anyone know what that bit means?. Its not the full harness, its the small one that's goes to Ign module etc, as can be seen below. 95 quid seems a lot to me.

US83 means non EU spec engine.
Lots of these next to nil value oddities in the hands of NOS sellers.
Usually Dealer ordered by mistake and could not send it back.
With open bags and packages label and contents sometimes do not match perfectly.

The Depoll engine i believe relates to the RFZ full electronic ignition/injection engine as pictured above, which is the same as mine, strange there was a US spec as Citroen didnt officialy export to the US at this point although it could be a peugeot thing.

Interestingly though the seller's picture shows a yellow coloured loom which is the Ignition loom, the screen grab above though shows to sensor harness which carries signal info from temp and pressure sensors to the ecu and cabin guages along with the A/C clutch and starter motor trigger wiring and nothing to do with the ignition loom.
I may investigate further and make a stupid offer if poss, its not worth paying good money for.......
