2.5 clutch

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

2.5 clutch

Post by marc61 » Wed Dec 10, 2014 5:50 pm

Would anyone have a spare or know how to replace the plastic fitting which clips onto the 2.5 clutch pedal and transfers the movement to the master cylinder?

It's the plastic equivalent of a rose joint but less sturdy and mine is worn and drops off when it feels like it - clutch pedal hits the floor etc etc

Replaced the cylinder and pipe assembly in one of mine a few months ago.
Had a recovered complete pedal box on the bench as a guide to what I had to do contorted under the dash.
What came out was not a Citroen cylinder so suspect I used the cylinder and rose on the swap.
Will have a look to see if I can find anything spare over the weekend.

Hi John, would you know if the plastic rose unscrews from the rod that transfers movement to the master cylinder, or is it all one piece?

I took the steering wheel assembly out so I could see it a bit better. Managed to keep the rose from pulling itself off by fitting a couple of cable ties to constrain the rod relative to the pedal arm when the pedal is pushed. A bodge, will have to see how long it lasts.

Cheers
