On Thursday I reached a wonderful milestone - 25 years young I was, 25 years young! . . and what did I receive to celebrate it - nothing!! Not a card, not a wash, not even a smelly. He keeps promising that he'll take me out but I haven't seen him in a fortnight, just the four walls of this garage - it is nice and warm though. :D

The only one he has eyes for is that black wench - he takes her out every day. She even gets new spheres and a green blood transfusion. And he's going to be pampering her in the new year. Don't know what he sees in her. Yeah ok, she may be younger but she's been round the clock more than I have . . . and she doesn't have my curves. ;)

All a girl wants is a bit of attention . . . ooh hang on, the garage door's opening . . . :D :D

Will you be getting a card, though, from those nice folk at DVLA, offering you free membership of their Club?
Congratulations anyway, Ol' Girl!

Goldie is going to have to be pressed into service this week as my Xantia is going into the bodyshop to have the door shuts done. And I'm slightly worried at what they will find as at the MOT last February there were slight rust marks around the seams but the steel was solid enough. Now I could push my finger through with ease it's so thin. They are going to cut back to the strong steel and see where we go from there.

I got my Xantia back today. Very satisfied with the work; considering the car's black I can't see the join in the welding or the paint. :D

Having to use the XM has thrown up a few glitches that need seeing to. Firstly, although the heaters are very warm and quick to heat up, there is a constant whistling noise from the heater box. I gave it a quick blast with WD40 to no avail so I'm going to have to have a closer look. Hopefully some 3 in 1 in the right places will sort it.

The climate temp sensor in the roof light was making a hell of a racket. Even though I cleaned it out last summer it was full of gunk and fluff so a bit of WD40 and a paint brush and a few dabs of 3 in 1 and it's as quite as a mouse now. The interior light doesn't work though so I will have to use my intensely honed electrical skills to find out what's wrong.

The wipers will only work when the switch is held down. There are two copper cones in the switch which were not making a good contact the last time I had it out so I think a new switch is the way to go (if anyone has one).

The trim on the rear side windows has come loose. It's only happened since it's been out of the garage so I wonder if the cold and wet has affected the glue.

But the real problem has been that she has thrown a gear linkage twice leaving me stirring a pudding basin where there was once gears. On both occasions I've been able to prise it back on with a bit of grease and mould grips but it's not a very good fit. Should they be found wanting it may be right to put new ones on as they are still available from Citroen. Parts 2 & 3.

Apart from that she has been a pleasure to drive. Starts first time, runs well, and attracts the kind of attention every girl wants. ;)

Hee hee!!  I could just imagine the reaction I'd get from Goldie if I put such modern rubbish as a trip computer into her! :P

Yes I will have a switch, one with intermittent swipe. Thanks.

Those window trims like like they've been pried back with screwdrivers. For both to go at the same time would be some coincidence.
