Strut head type 5271.A3

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Strut head type 5271.A3

There are two of these NOS offered on ebay today at £150 plus £15 p&p each.
UK buyers should be careful to check the item is suitable for their XM.
My check on the parts list seems to indicate they are NON-HYDRACTIVE so will have the small diameter pipe connection.
Unfortunately the one in the photo has this connection hidden from view so cannot be checked.
As far as I am aware very few, if any, non-hydractive XM's were sold in the UK.

Good spot John, could see someone getting pretty annoyed if they paid that kind of money only to find it was a non-hydractive strut destined for a UK car...

Hi Ciaran

There have been quite a number of these as NOS on ebay over the last few years.
I think that maybe Citroen recommended dealers to hold a matched pair on stock to cater for quick repair foreign visiting cars.
They may well have been free issue to cater for the widespread in service failure of 4 dimple heads on the early XM's.
According to the Citroen rules the strut had to be changed with the head due to repositioned oil ways in rod and head.
These strut heads can be drilled out and threaded to suit Hydractive pipes but not without a degree of risk.
I gave one (5271.A5, other hand)to Dean a few years ago and he got that mod done.
