This Citroen CX belonged to my Father who owned it from 1990. It was only 4 years old when he bought it and had only three previous owners. Since then it has been well maintained up until very recently and has been garaged from when it was first bought. It has a low milage and the bodywork is in reasonable condition (there is some rust around the sunroof and a little on the bottom of the door panels and a small dent on the back left hand corner as shown in the photos). It had a flat battery due to lack of use so a new battery was fitted a couple of weeks ago. It's not in mint condition but for it's age is still very together and although it no longer has tax or MOT, the service history is very good and it has been well cared for so I doubt that it would take much to get her back on the road where she belongs. I will be sorry to see her go as my Dad loved this car (It was the 3rd CX he owned!!) but I could never do her justice to maintain her and really she deserves a special home with a Citroen enthusiast who will look after her and enjoy to the max everything she still has to offer.....
Best thing is the Cx autobox's are indestructible and they seem to go on for ever! (well if they're 4-speeders not C-Matic)

Quite a nice color, I think I actually prefer it than the black or white -truth is the shade of sunlight on the photos makes it a favour.
Is this a great opportunity for those here that want to jump to CX ownership???
Hope he's realistic with the reserve.
cheers
George

Andrew,
I thought CX's Borg warners were 3 speed?? Not 4? Thats what puts me off an auto really, they are revving rather high in top gear

Paul, you're totally correct, shows when I last drove one of my auto's!
With the perpetual chatter here about Xm auto's I'd managed to mix up my
Cx from my Xm's. That'll learn me to post late in the evening!
The 2.5's have such large slugs of torque (yes petrol and diesel) that they
rarely need to drive at any kind of high revs and motorway cruising is still
relaxed.

That is a nice CX. CXs look good in Metallic paint. Looking at more and more of these series 2 cars makes me prefer the sereis 1 cars even more. The lines are somewhat cleaner, the stainless steel bumpers look so much better than the plastic ones. Don't get me started on the dash an instrument panels either! The series 2 dash, again doesn't look as good as the series 1 dash, speedo unit isn't as nicem the switch gear looks a lot fussier too.

I cannot imagine how Tourque the 2.5 units are! My theory when I learnt to drive was that a OHV engine has simillar characters to DERV's in that low down torque was deliverd nicely! How ever OHC units were more free revving and sportier - NOT saying the 2.5 OHV is not sporty...
My OHV experiance was 2 Renault 9 1.4 (thats 1397cc OHV) cars, which were good, but when I bought a Golf Mark 1 1.5 OHC, it was a much freeer revving engine, but I noticed I had to rev it a bit more to get it going, but it did go, were as the Ren 9 would lope nicely in 5th...
Then I discovered the BX Turbo D, thats not untill after a BX TXd with the later 75 bhp N/a rather then the 65bhp earlyer engine...
