1998 VSX DIESEL AUTO ESTATE FOR SALE

Hi all.

I am reluctantly selling my VSX automatic estate.

The drive belt tensioner securing bolt sheared on it last summer as it was ticking over in traffic and after getting it recovered home I still haven't had it repaired and I have finally realised that I am not going to.....I cannot repair it myself as I am a spinal injury and confined to a wheelchair and the access to the tensioner is awkward.......my arms just aren't long enough !!! I was quoted about £500 labour to fix it but couldn't justify spending the money. If this is in your capabilities then it could be a cheap repair as I don't think that the parts are that expensive.

The car still starts, well it did last month anyway, but the timing seems to be out slightly which must have been caused, so I have been told, by the drive belt
catching the timing belt as it came off.

The car is too good to scrap and has served me well over the last 6 years or so.

It has 4 excellent new-ish tyres and has had, in 2013, a NSF lower ball joint, an accumulator sphere, the drive belt tensioner replaced ( yes, the darn one that went on and sheared !!!), and later on during the year a new windscreen and radiator.

From memory the radio stopped working and the tailgate lock was sometimes a bit lazy. Oh, I put new tailgate struts on a couple of years ago together with the front spheres. The mileage is reading 99,999 and had stuck on this just before I bought it (mot to prove ) and so I would guesstimate that the total mileage is now about 120,000

I am sure that I have forgotten lots but to sum it up its a genuine car that I would like to think would be able to do someone many more years of service once the tensioner is repaired.

I think that its even got about three quarters of a tank of diesel !!!

The car will obviously have to be transported and I have a friend who may be able to do this on his recovery truck for a fee.

Its mot'd until next month I think.

It also has the original Citroen plastic / fibre glass boot protector.

Good luck with the sale Steve.

You would be better listing the car on Ebay or Classis Cars for sale. Most people here have their fair share (and a few more in some cases (Paul and Matt)) of XMs!
