Sinker pumps are driven by a V belt, anti-sink by a multi ribbed flat belt.

Re: Greetings
I hate anti-sink.
What's the point in having a hydraulic Citroen if it's not collapsed on your drive like a giant dead fish in the morning?
Too much thought and effort went into Mondeo-ising the XM in that regard.

Re: Greetings
I suppose, there's something to be said for the looks any sinker will get when you start the engine and it begins to rise off it's belly but then there's also something to be said (in practicality terms) to being able to drive straight off as soon as you have pressure, and being able to do a Rolls-Royce esque "failure to proceed" without the trauma of searching the roadside for a fence to vandalise for wood blocks in order to keep the car recoverable without damage (not that it's something we'd like to plan for, breakdowns can happen).Ciaran wrote:I hate anti-sink.

I guess the answer is if you like the attention or just enjoy the experience of sitting in the car while it rises (c'mon admit it lol) and have an SC-MAC car just lower it when you park up

Is that the right way round? I'm sure our car has a V-belt, in fact IIRC I thought it looked out of place/old fashioned next to the alternator's ribbed belt. Better have a look under the bonnet when we go out, make sure I'm not cracking up haha *wibble*Dieselman wrote:Sinker pumps are driven by a V belt, anti-sink by a multi ribbed flat belt.
