Wanted 2,1 TD autobox Bosch injection

Post by ocun » Fri Mar 27, 2015 9:19 pm

I'm searching for XM 2.1TD autobox right hand driving Exclusive.
MkII from 1995 to 1997 Bosch injection pump equiped only (not Lucas EPIC)

I sold last year my 2,1 TD estate 1994 (Bosch), She had 350 000 Km and was very strong but rost has made a lot of damage.
I still have 2.5 TD estate 1996, 260 000 Km and 2.5 TD Exclusive 1998, 220 000 Km but not so strong as the 2.1 TD
Bosch VP36 injection on 2.5 TD model is not so strong as Bosch mechanic injection.

Waiting for submit, thanks.

Sorry for my English, I'm French and live in the North of France close to Lille.

If it has to have leather and aircon would an earlier series 1/1.5 sed not fit the bill for you?

I found one, She'll arrive wednesday at home.
But she is not RHD.
She is Autobox with Bosch injection with plenty of work to do !!!!
That's the reason why I bought her very cheaper.

Bosch VP36 on 2.5 is very smooth, but not robust as mechanic Bosch on 2.1

How so as both are strong enough for veg and we haven't heard of many 2.5 pumps blowing? Even if they did the cost would be pretty much the same for a rebuild of all the seals.

For me Bosch mechanical injection on 2.1 or Xantia 1.9 are the best injection to run with vegetable oil.
I collect chips oil and drive my diesel cars with that !

Straight vegetable oil.
Also known as brand new oil.
The cooler the outside temperature is the more critical is to what oil you use.
Rape and sunflower are best for use in the UK throughout winter due to their low cloud point but through the summer gm soya is perfect.

Personally I can run upto 100% soya in the winter if the car is being used everyday as true heat soon gets into the oil in the tank which is held quite well overnight. If I can be bothered it gets 5litres of diesel in the tank or if I knownits going to drop below 0'c and the car might be parked for a day or two. I also chuck in some old engine oil and lhm as its not much per tank full it thins out easily and doesn't affect performance :)
