HERE IS MY CITROEN XM 2.5 TURBO DIESEL,I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR SINCE 2003 AND IT HAS BEEN A BRILLIANT WORK HORSE, THE SPEEDO SHOWS 143000 MILES HOWEVER THE SPEEDO DOES HAVE A MIND OF ITS OWN AND IS INTERMITTANT SO IM NOT SURE WHAT THE TOTAL MILEAGE IS.THE MECHANICS ARE EXCCELLENT ,HYDRAULICS ARE ALL WORKING CORRECTLY, RECENTLY HAD A NEW CAMBELT AND HAS BEEN SERVICED REGULARY.THE BODY HAS SUFFERED A FEW BUMPS AND THERE IS A LITTLE BIT OF RUST HERE AND THERE BUT THIS CAR HAS JUST BEEN A WORKHORSE AND IS BEING SOLD AS IS NO WARRANTY IMPLIED OR GIVEN.THESE BIG TURBO MODELS ARE BECOMING RARE SO PROBABLY SUIT A CITROEN ENTHUSIAST,ALL IN ALL A GOOD SOLID CAR AND I WILL BE SORRY TO SEE IT GO. THERE IS NO RESERVE SO SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER.GOOD LUCK.

Of course you can! TAKE IT OUT and put a 2.1 in...

In honesty, though, that wouldn't work, as the 2.5 has a SPECIFIC extra engine mount on the drivers side suspension turret, half way down, which I would imagine would foul the 2.1, or make an In Car cam belt replacment impossible or very hard..

Hi Peter & Paul

Middle engine mount is not the problem that it seems.
It is just bolted to the underside of the chassis member.
Easily removed leaving no trace except the reinforced bolt holes in the chassis.
Cam belt access would be identical to the 2.1TD except increased space towards the front where the 2.5 chassis has a 25mm deep recess for the larger engine.
The problem one is the top engine mount, a large metal surround for a rubber bush.
This would need cutting off the chassis by the drivers side strut head and welding in one for the 2.1 type link mount.

If that silver 2.5 estate stays below £100 then I might need parking for an extra car.
