Michelins of course and does far more mileage. My XM's won't get any other tyres apart from winter tyres. But we do a lot of mileage so they won't suffer from side wall cracking due to sun light.

Tyres are an important factor
That is interesting Jaap as my gold V6 also has a new set of Michelin Energy tyres, which is a first for me!

Agree about the Michelins.
As has been written before, inflation pressure is critical for a good ride on the XM, particularly for the very supple and pliant Energys. Over-inflation, even by a couple of psi, can move the ride from comfortable to knobbly on some surfaces.

The michelin ernergy saver is a winner as far as I am concerned. They are really made for this car. My commute is one big very windy roads affair with often wet and always bad roads. They take it all miraculously well, to be honest I was sceptical at first. Glad I can buy them 'cheap' and put them on myself now, helps in the costs. 92 euro's a tyre I paid for them last time.
How do you like the tyres Matthew? I'd have thought you'd have had michelins all along but apparently not? I don't know how a V6 with countless valves ;) handles with those michelins....I only have a slow diesel as you know.-

I have a fast diesel, and they're as good as you say. The suspension was effectively built for them - for their predecessors, anyway. All praise to Michelin for having produced something new and retroactively so good.

Good price, that. My last pair were €240 fitted and all-in.

Just paid €105 for an Energy Saver + (205/65 R15 94V), fitted to the rim and balanced, but not to the car.
Not quite as good as the Captain's €92, but a lot better than my last price (same place) above.
Has the price of these Michelin's dropped?

I've used energy's before and they are what I replaced when they got down to 2mm at the front but I went with Michelin Alpin A4's and have some more in the garage. Some people say you shouldn't run winter biased tyres in the summer and I'd agree if we got more than a few hot days of over 20'c a year but they are great for wet weather performance and when the colder weather hits they shine above the normal energys by a good margin. They wear a little more as they are a softer compound but then I have the big heavy 2.5 unit up front :D

Costco is presumably supply only....so add in fit to rim and balance and vat on that, and it's not far off.
Always amazes me to see so many French and Spanish supermarkets selling so many tyres, even main brands. But then they need to be fitted, balanced (?) for which fitters, here, can charge €40 a throw for tyres they haven't supplied. Can't be bothered with all that, and don't see the point of struggling to get tyres on and off rims, let alone dynamic balancing! Odd.
