Wanted: Clutch kit for 2.5TD

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Might have to find his contact details as could do with my belts doing soon :)

At the clutch end that's the balancing belt as well as he water pump isn't it? Was just thinking if you take the engine out to split the box anyway best to do it all while access is easy and the system drained?

What 5th gear ratios are you wanting to use John as I've plump for 2.2hdi 5speed cogs from a c5 but have yet to get the spare time to fit them. I'm hoping to drop a few 100rpm at 60mph which currently sits at just over 2000rpm in mine :)

I find it interesting that the 2.5 and 2.1 use almost the same final gear ratio.

Balance belt is hidden under the main timing belt.
Rather odd double belt toothed on both sides so not easy or cheap to find.
It has an easy load life so I renew them at every second timing belt change (150k).

There is a lot that I will want to do to engines and chassis on the long life cars so engine out is my preference.
I intend to rebuild the lowest mileage engines I have for reuse.
Decided not to bid for the NOS factory engine that was offered on ebay some years ago.
Last I heard it was sitting on a pallet in Scotland and due to go in a 73k black estate.

On gears I am aiming somewhere between 10% and 20% stretch in gear ratios.
Changing the main drive ratio may be the easiest option rather than individual gears.
Also have a ML6 box that may figure in the trial changes.
As Dieselman notes it seems rather odd that the 2.5, the V6 manual and the 2.1 all use similar ratio boxes.

That engine is still sat near Glasgow I believe John. Shame really but not with that price IMO as its been sat so long now.

Good idea with the chassis legs, I guess to rust inspect and strengthen if possible.
