Early SED - a new chapter

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Quote now at £296 but not to the right place so we would have to go round this again and the clock is ticking. I am not going to have time to get anything major off this car if I scrap it in the driveway, time pressure if nothing else. I'm also getting close to having to give the HIAB guy the few days' notice he wanted and then that will be it. If I am giving this away, surely it is worth a communal £300ish, or whatever it costs, to get this car to North Wales or Liverpool? Frankly £300 seems a bargain for a 275 mile trip one way. Even with a return load I don't see how they make it pay.

Someone will get it to the far end of North Wales for £300 which is what I spent on rads for the 2.5. How much cheaper would it have to be for somebody to be interested? As Dean says
It's just a car, if someone else is keen to save it they will save it, if they are not then its obviously not worth saving.
I'm already prepared to take a hit on the quick resale bits I could pull off it. It only exists at all because I've put so much time into it including the past week. If it isn't worth £300 to someone who has the space to house it then there's not a lot I can do.

So assuming it gets broken correctly in Wales, can the list put a shopping list together now that quickly covers the £300 and your effort? Or have you been here before and the maths doesn't work out? I do have £300 but it is a bit perverse paying £300 to sell a car.

Incidentally... If I were to rescue this car I would hope to deliver it straight to Dr. Paul in the hope that sometime in the future he would be able to recommision it on my behalf.

I also spoke to my friend today who has a lot of dealings with classic cars and Shipley and claims a friend of his has had cars moved from down south to up north for around £100

Paul, if you want this car for saving, I can contribute £50 to the fund to move it via Shipley.

Can 5 other people contribute the same so we can get this shiznit done together?

I've listed an ad on Shipley to move it to the correct location, if someone wants to lend me the money to get it saved I'd be ever so grateful. I just need to get Christmas out the way, I've spent close to £2500 on My cars since November and it's kinda wiped me out a little. Believe me I am trying everything I possibly can to save this car.
