Can you let me know the Shiply reference so I can point the previous guys towards it, PM might be better? What did you use as the starting point postcode? And if you're PMing anyway, what is the end point please?raynoon wrote:I've listed an ad on Shipley to move it to the correct location, if someone wants to lend me the money to get it saved I'd be ever so grateful. I just need to get Christmas out the way, I've spent close to £2500 on My cars since November and it's kinda wiped me out a little. Believe me I am trying everything I possibly can to save this car.
I must be crackers, there's a guy over on the Yahoo list who wants silly money for strut tops, someone on ebay wants £100 for a glovebox, I'm giving a car away and, yes, I can lend (not give) the same as James towards shipping if the intention is to save it. I can't say whether it is worth repairing. It passed a test and then was parked for four years. I think it should and could be saved. The turbo for example (runaway) would be an easy fix but not for me. I have today had to explain to a client why a mains monitoring system promised for summer gone will not be with him until spring.
FYI bonnet release cable outer near battery box is rotten, I would ship without grille so bonnet can be easily manually released. After a couple of glow plug periods It is starting on the button with a new battery. That battery doesn't come with it, I replaced the 10 year old battery on the V6 only a fortnight ago - old battery was fine but not when hot, dodgy cell, and that is what I would ship so at least there is something to jump onto and keep the alternator happy.
Front passenger door outside handle is stuck, door opens okay from inside but you have to help the door latch to open a bit more so it will close again. A couple of door lock internal buttons missing and a rear door opening plastic trim.
I would send, but are not installed
- rear window
- centre console right side trim which I just leave off all XMs as standard
- the bit above the driver's legs which an ex sowed a piece of black felt to where it was worn but I never refitted

- trim under the fusebox, can't remember why I took that off in recent driven history but I think because I was trying to work out why the starter wire was so weak, no idea really ... edit to add does this have to come off to look at the blower fan, it was doing a mouse impression at low revs so that might be why
Ignition switch was replaced after the engine loom shorting issue and has given good service. Shame that the replacement has a shorter barrel and doesn't come up to the steering shroud.
I have only tried the driver's window, which was fine, but most of the others had replacement nylon wotsits. Back in the day (95) before Citroen made them available as spares one of the tech guys at Slough was kindly sourcing them for me. He even lent me the small diagnostic set to reset the AC control when Citroen Hammersmith said it was shot and wanted to fit a new one. You won't get that out of Slough now.
The original radio packed in years ago, it has a cheap Sony in there which I'm afraid I want for the 928 which has a non working CD. This will leave bare wires as I soldered the Sony wires in rather than use an adaptor lead. I did replace the shot rear speakers with nice Kenwoods that were replacements I had put in the V6 but I was driving the SED more. So the V6 doesn't have rear speakers. If you don't want the rear speakers because you are awash then I would take those for the V6 please.
