The wheels are done

Initially I was going to have these done professionally but the discussions over price and an available slot to do them led me to do them myself - sort of. My brother took them to work which got rid of most of the crap and I finished them off with spray, lacquer and refitted tyres.

Oh, I've also had my nuts blacked

Wow they look impressive Neil and it will be a shame to cover them up with the wheel trims! I am guessing that you had them shot-blasted? With regards, Matthew T.

Yes they were shot blasted, my brother has use of a small one at work.

I agree it will be a shame to cover them up but they needed doing. Hopefully tomorrow I can get the rear end finished and start on the front end.

Been a good day really. Rear end back together, just a couple of things that need attention in time. The brake backplates are buggered and I'll be looking out for a decent pair to replace them. The brake guards that prevent dust and grit from getting into the pads are only held together by rust so I have a pair on order.

Make your own minds up about wether the wheel trims spoil the wheels or not

Only downside to the day is that the water pipe I mentioned earlier is dripping badly now and will need replacing pronto.

Onto the front of the car now. . .

Looks cracking Neil, nice job. Giving Vince a run for his money!

What products are you using just out of interest? They give a good finish whatever they are.

Nothing fancy Russ, silver alloy wheel spray and stonechip black. More importantly, I think, is that everything was degreased first, then plenty of time between each coat.

I can certainly recommend this stuff
