Well. RAC confirmed my thoughts that it was the autobox. I've contacted A1 Premiere Transmissions. Biggleswade who can do this. So I'll keep you informed about what happens next.

It was a few years ago but when I broke down the AA or RAC said I could have onward to any garage for repair. Hence why I ended up in Kent! Maybe the RAC could take you to where you need to go for repair too? Was quite a bit of a money saver!
