The welding is top notch every time, can't fault it. The sunroof looks wonderfully different to everyone else and a pain in the arse to me. As for issues, the only one I had until this aft was that the rear doesn't raise up to level on rest

but now I have a more pressing problem

The drain pipe has rotted away, so back for some more welding

The flashing - - - F isn't the battery or the clock needs setting or even the temp sensor, as I fitting a new one. So, as that's my electrical knowledge used up, I haven't a clue now.

The rear end looks tidier now

And as for the headlining, even with the sun on it it won't bloody dry!

The old rusted up drain tube. Had experience of that before now. ;)
Is there any adjustment screws on the sides of the sunroof panel? Can't remember if yours lifts up as well as sliding back. On the proper Citroen sunroofs, you can adjust the panel height.

The back looks great. Nice little patch job. They do look so much smarter without a towbar...

Spoke to Mr Welder man about the rusty drain hole on the sunroof. No problem, bring the sunroof cassette in and we'll sort it. Can't do that, it's fixed in. Oh shit, that's gonna be fun. Bring it in back end of the week and we'll have a look. (Which means we'll sort it).

Talking about the sunroof and I have a problem with the headlining. As I can't get the slider out of the cassette I can't have the headlining and slider re-covered in the material I wanted so therefore the car is going to have to go with me to the trimmers* so he can marry them up. I can't take the car until it's taxed on the 1st April and I can't tax the car as the test runs out on the 1st April :| So I'm going to have to put the fibreglass moulding back in the car and refit all the trim to test the car so I can tax it so I can take it to the trimmers and when the headlining comes back I've to remove all the trim again to fit the headlining. I set myself up for some crap!

* As I don't have a crimper anymore I couldn't get the fit around the holes without pulling the material through, which never looks right anyway. Also I don't have the knowledge and tools to get the material to fit into the grab handle indents and stay there! After all this time I'm not so arrogant as to make a mess of this to satisfy my own ego.

Everything is done mechanically, including a change of oil in both engine and gearbox, :D but as I was putting the car back in the garage I tried the washers to clear the windscreen - nothing! Not a sound, so that's some sort of electrical thingy that needs sorting out.

The washers will be the washer pump has seized. Remove it, give it a sharp bash on the ground and it will probablly work again. The front one ont he Cobalt car kept doing this when stood for some time, so I swapped it with the rear one.

Yeah mine isn't that I've got a lot to do, it's that I've got no time to do it in. At this time of year work should be quiet and I should have plenty of time on my hands. I've never been so busy and end up having to squeeze in an hour or two at the end of a shift. This latest facade over the washers says it all. Why couldn't they fail whilst the wheel arches were off, why did they have to wait until the wheel arches were back on before failing?

It's not a difficult job by any means but it's time I could use on something else.

Last week I did six hours in three separate sessions, this week I won't get near her until Thursday at best. :(

Decided against welding the pipe onto the sunroof as the metal is very weak and could end up chasing a long way back.
So decided to use rust convertor and then e-metal as a less invasive option

At £4 a tube it's worth a try. If the claims are correct it should be like steel in the morning when I go back down.

And I'm having to go back down as after six months of just moving the car in and out of the garage the battery gave up. Dead!! Put it back on tomorrow to see if I can find the fault with the washers, put the fibreglass moulding and the trim back in and see if I can get a test on Monday.

Headlining is almost finished

The metal epoxy is probably a good idea, less stress ont he rest of the metal. The only issue now is how corroded the rest of the cassette is.

I like your drying system, but chant help thinnking the headlining would stay drier mounted inside the car, not outside. It will get soaked again each time it rains when driving.

It won't dry where it is Will so taking it out strapped down on top of the car is probably a decent idea.

The problem with the washers isn't down to the motors. I took the tank out and swapped both motors over onto each connector. Both motors work on the rear circuit, neither of them work on the front circuit. I suppose it could be the connector but that's about my level of knowledge where electrics are concerned.

Shame really as that's the only thing stopping me from taking it for a test as the steel putty has gone rock hard and looks to have solved that little problem.
