Wanted: HP Pump for S2 V6 24v

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Wanted: HP Pump for S2 V6 24v

Post by SteveLP » Fri Apr 01, 2016 10:18 am

My LHM pump is leaking through the spindle. Could do with an alternative!
Anyone got one hiding in the garage somewhere!
Could also do with a radiator as well!

Finally getting my V6s back to a running state. Slowly!

Hi

Afraid I can't help regarding a pump, but I replaced my radiator last March from this company: http://www.carcooling.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The cost including carriage was £138.10.

If I recall correctly it is the same radiator for the 2.1 diesel too.

Hope this helps.
Regards

Rob

I was happy with a car cooling.co.UK rad in my Xantia V6. If you search a little, you should find a Nissan's rad for the XM at a similar price. They are the same raD as the 2.1 from 97 on. There were 2 earlier rads used on the 2.1 which are not compatible with the ES9.

The hydraulic pump is the same as the. Xantia V6, but not eassy to find. Reconditioning your pump may be the best option.

You will need a V6 pump due to the size of the pulley. Can you get hte pulley pulled off and just fit a new seal. A bearings and seal stockist may well do the job for you as well as supply a new seal.

I thought the pump for the late V6 was internally different from all other 6+2 pumps.
Citroen also altered pipe nut threads for some of the 6.35mm pipe connections.
Not sure if that included the pump but cross threading is possible and can do significant damage.

I've got a spare V6 pump for a late V6, but need a steer as to how it's different as its in a box with several other XM pumps. From memory the exit port is a finer thread. Is the pulley bigger or smaller?

Cheers

The ES9 pump is the only one with a pulley held on by 4 bolts to a flange.

Hi. Marc
That would be great if you have one! Me and the XM could come up and visit you one evening as I'm in Cambridge most weekdays and am usually travelling on the dreaded A14.
I'll have a look at the pump on the XM this evening and see if I can take some half decent photos.
Thanks for the pointers about the pulley Mr v6!
Cheers

I have a stray pump here but don't know what its for, its not a 2.1 as uses a ribbed belt, if you give me the pulley size I will check, I also have a good used 2.1 radiator.

Steve

I'm sorry I've searched for it and can't find it! I've got some with 3 bolt pulleys, but none with 4 bolts. I guess I must have sold it, simply can't remember!

Cheers
