Black V6 12v PRV MANUAL, DIRAVI, left-hand drive, NO SUNROOF

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Thanks George and I am obviously very tempted! I would be amazed if the manifold studs could be done in place as I struggled with the engine out although it depends which side I guess. Perhaps you saw my recent thread on replacement of the rear manifold and gasket that was a pig of a job and several of my studs were missing. It may just be the your gasket needs doing. Here is the video for the exhaust manifold studs to which you referred George and I see that the trick for access is to remove the rear cylinder bank ancillaries and rocker cover, which I did not do myself.

I think it would still be quite a demanding task and you need all the right tools of course, but clearly manageable insitu!

Crikey, he even took a driveshaft out to do it.

I hope you find a good home for it George, it looks like a great car. If only I had a one of those magical barns......

That's the one Matthew, yes! Didn't know he had it on youtube -I had his flicrk account and I have all these photos shown there. Not much in terms of specific tools to have, other than the angle drill (pneumatic, preferably) and various broken stud removal tricks -left-hand drill bits etc. I had gathered all that stuff!

The pneumatic drill head was a £20 ebay acquisition -just a cheap one-, the other bits are costing pennies really. The problem is, you need a compressor to work the pneumatic drill, which my mechanic had -and can otherwise be rented. There are electric angle drills too, just that they tend to be bigger and I don't know if they'd be up to the task. The pneumatic drill head is really slim.

Many thanks for that helpful advice George and do let us know what happens with the car, which hopefully will go to a good home and be repaired! With regards, Matthew T.
