Not me, but the mechanic in the village. I just got all the bits together. His report was along the usual XM lines that he would rather not work on it ever again! Very very difficult access, as you all warned me.

Boosts just up to the 'b' in Turbo. Might tweak the boost fuelling on the pump ever so slightly after one tankful of fuel after its proved it's reliability.

I think fixing this was a wise decision given what you have fixed so far. It should now be reliable and give many more smiles.

You questioned the head gasket.. Id not bother if there is no signs of any cooling system pressure. Xm gaskets useually go around to 100 to 120k mark.. Iirc the miles are a bit higher then that..

Yes but sometimes it does need a little top up. I suspect this is a hose though. Haven't got to the bottom of it yet as it's never got low enough to put the alarm on, so I haven't paid it the most attention. .

The only way to get an egr turbo out is with the head attached to it....
