Wanted: Front electro-valve for mk1.5 car

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Wanted: Front electro-valve for mk1.5 car

Post by sdelasal » Sun Jul 24, 2016 2:00 pm

My front EV mounted on the centre sphere block is leaking when the system enters soft mode- leaking as in visible drops rather than an internal leak. So any advice on how to remove it would be welcome and also has anyone got a spare that I can buy or borrow - as i'm reluctant to remove my one until I have a spare in my hand. Steve

My subtle point was that internal leakage in soft mode can often be cured by dismantling and stretching the small spring a little.

Thanks, but it's an external leak that is the problem - I've now corrected the original post to say as such.

An external leak only in soft mode seems unusual.

Are you shure it is not just a split or disconnected return hose? On one of my Xantias (which had a valve with a lot of internal leakage), the spike of pressure when changing modes was enough to pop-off the return hose, until I fastened it with a cable tie.
