Estate capacity - carry some interior doors?

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Estate capacity - carry some interior doors?

Post by jonhopper » Thu Dec 21, 2017 4:20 pm

About to collect an XM estate after 15 years or so without an XM...and last was a Saloon.

Over the weekend I need to collect 5 interior doors - standard size - 6'6" tall and 30" wide... 198cm tall..

Will these fit in the back?

thanks

Should do with just the seats folded, but definitely will with the rear seat base removed. It is held in by a pair of rubber blocks, one in each hinge.

If needed run the front passenger seat as far forward as it will go.
With the front passenger seat full forward and laid flat you can get 10 ft (3m) lengths of wood into a XM car.
The estate is the same chassis with an extra 9 inches to the inside of the bottom of the tailgate.
The tailgate is much steeper so far more extra space higher up than a car.
Have shifted larger doors inside an XM estate but a while ago.
