That wasn't what Southerner said. He said the volume of posts in the Sales and Wants section made it difficult to see individual items. These boards are viewed by casual users, so will generate additional views to any particular post.
Perhaps you two should have private discussion regarding the viability of you selling your headlamp to Southerner.
@Southerner. I'm not sure abut the viability of sorting the old posts, it would have to be a manual process and it's rarely clear when an item has sold.

The phpBB forum software has an option feature to auto-prune (delete) a topic if it has not been read (or replied to) in a certain number of days. On the sale/wants forum of FCF we have this set to 180 days since last reply.
The deeper problem here is that very few people are repairing XMs or stockpiling spare parts.
