Selling off one (or bits

) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Hi all,
I’m after the piece of trim that lives here:
Mine departed during some recent motorway testing.
A green cover would be ideal, but any colour will do as I am happy to paint it.
Cheers,
Josh

Another reason I'm tempted to get into the 3D printing malarkey - these are all now rather brittle bits of plastic! I'll check my stash when I get to the back of my garage. In the meantime, good luck securing one

I have a 3d printer, not used at the moment, just not had time to study the build program as yet, but it can be plugged into the internet for a peer to peer use, so if anyone else as the knowledge to be able to operate it over the internet, you are well come to use it

Thanks folks, I’ve now got a replacement here with me.
RE 3d printing: I have a 3d printer, but the time and effort it would take to model this panel from scratch would’ve been too much in my opinion, at least when a replacement was under £20 shipped!

That's why I am thinking about getting 3D scanner for the printer, it will cut out all that hassle

From what I’ve seen in terms of consumer level equipment, the scans will still need a lot of clean up and re-working to get a useable model.
It would be interesting to see if it’s faster to work from a scan that needs refining, or using reference images to create a sketch.
Either way, on cheap items I’m unsure that it’s worth it. For things like the sidelights though, the time and effort could be worthwhile.
