eBay - XM 2.0 VSX Turbo Auto.

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Just spotted a friend's XM on eBay. As per the description the owner is a CCC Member and has owned the XM since 1997!

Users of the CCC Forum would have recently seen the thread about his replacement, a Xantia V6 and thus the XM is to go.

Seen at the ICCCR, CX, XM and Xantia Rally and other CCC Events too! 8-)

What does he think of the Xantia V6 after the XM Franklin. I'd be interested to know, having one of each, as the XM and Xantia are very different cars. He must have noticed and made some comment...

A few quotes Jim...
I’ve covered less than 300 miles so far but I’m very impressed. The amount of power on tap is amazing and the auto box is very responsive to throttle changes (the ‘sport’ mode needs to be used with care).
The ride is excellent, on a par with my XM and I put this down to the extra weight of the V6 over the 2.0 as I assume that a shorter wheelbase would reduce the ride quality (probably talking out of the wrong end there).
My XM has to go, it’s taking up garage space and I bought the Xantia on the understanding that I would get rid. I’m very attached to it having bought it from a main dealer in January 1997 as one of the first batch of series 2 cars built in 1994. It was still owned by Citroen UK and had been used as a roving demo.
Not too much comparison though...

Interesting...

Particularly on the ride comfort as the Xantia V6 is quite stiff and taut, deliberately so for the weight it carries, and this was the subject of some consternation when it was launched.

It's not by any means Activa stiff and taut but compared say, to a 110 HDi Exclusive, it's noticeable and nowhere near so wafty as an XM in my experience.

Maybe his has comfort spheres... I stress these are my own experiences and feelings and others may have found different.

One thing I'm sure he has found is how small the Xantia feels after the XM, how much higher you seem to sit and how much more fleet the Xantia feels although the V6 XM is pretty fleet for one so wafty...
