Stuck in Park ebay 2.1 TD estate (in garage...)

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Well if you had someone with you, you could get them to keep the brakes on while selecting reverse under the bonnet.

Our T-plate auto was extremely stiff to select gears, it did get a little better but didnt feel quite right. Some lubrication had it working better. This is most likely seized up somewhere.

I guess the brake valve is not an easy fix/replacement? Its a shame somehting fairly simple has had the car standing for 5 years.

The brake valve replacement isn't a horrid job - much easier access in the scuttle area than
being buried down on the bulkhead as per the Cx one I've just had to change a few times...

You can even fix the thing standing up no less!! I may even have a spare auto cable that was too
late to save a mate's Xm that had a similar problem that was scrapped before it got fitted due to
the exact same problem. His Missus got fed up with it and called the scrap man without telling
anyone although technically, it was hers being the registered keeper.

Words were said after (loudly... :x )

It could be cleaned up and turned into a nice enough car, but we're seeing it in its worse light, and it really is only worth scrap/breaker money. £80 would be a good price for it. £150 tops.

Somebody local to him who fancies a faff about or perhaps someone after a
car load of handy spares including fancy alloys, towbar and a reasonably
good miles 2.1 TD engine in a potentially very straight bodyshell?

But for a a 'hapenneth of tar the ship was lost! How much (realistically) can a new
cable be purchased and DIY fitted for? Surely no more than 40-50 quid!? I'm guessing here mind! :P

Mind, if the seller has washed his hands of the car and wants his garage back, it'd probably
cost him something to get it dragged out even ultimately were it to be weighed in for scrap...
