Not an XM, but an orange Honda Z600 Coupe FOR SALE

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

No worries Campbell !
As you know I've owned several N600's a N600G also a N360 a 'KEI CAR' (But sadly only as a spares donor for the N600's) also my brother and sister-in-law had the Z600's, so I have actually driven them and worked/maintained them in the past !

So I have a question for you though ?
Did your Z600 not come with the Black coach-line on the sides (Possibly removed due to a re-spray in the past) or if it did have you removed as I noted in the posts on the BXC Forum:-
Philip Chidlow wrote:Blimey! I remember those, with the funky rear window. Is the Z badge original fit?
messerschmitt owner wrote:yep, the Z badge is - my other good car has had them removed!
The reason for my question is that the Z600 in our family had the Black stripes and also all the other Z600's I saw at the time which were on the road had them too !
Wikipedia wrote:In the UK the Z600 was only available in orange with a black stripe up the side.
Link to WIKIPEDIA which the /\ was taken from,

(Campbell, I've noted though that the 'K' plated one featured in the /\ Video, also too did not have the Black coach line) !

I'd love to own another N600/Z600, nice little fun cars and easy to work on (But sadly no spare/available storage space) good look with the sale.

:D

all three of mine don't have the stripe along the side - and I have spare doors, etc from perhaps three other cars and again, no stripe - I know one of mine lost the stripe on a respray - when the body was restored about six years back, but I think most must have had it! Two years was all they were imported for (71-72) and two of my three were registered in 73 but have free tax as a result of their build date.

I want the space back, in some respects, much as I like the Zs, my wife hates them and they need to go - hopefully to be replaced by something new - and interesting (I try not to do boring cars).

She wants another Punto cabriolet as an everyday car, so that is what the money is going towards. I have about twenty boxes of brand new bits plus another fifteen or so of secondhand bits for the car. Brand new speedos, bumpers, engine internals, exhausts, plus secondhand body, trim and engine parts too numerous to mention. Most importantly, I cannot put my messerschmitt back on the road until the carport and driveway are clear of extraneous vehicles.

What a great looking little car and I remember my brother had a plastic model kit of one back in the mid-70's when there were more around! Good luck with the sale. Matthew T.

The indicators look like they have been stuck on as an afterthought, which is probably the case.
I have seen them before on other cars. Pasted on this way or that way. Above the bumper or below it. Ugh

I find the same with the American spec cars with side marker lights - my motorhome needs side marker lights but seriously a 10ft long car! Hideous!

Oh, boxes of spares came with the cars - they're probably worth more than the three cars put together! Are you telling me you would never keep any spares for your XM?

Hi Campbell,
Are you positive that the USA spec. ones where the same as the Japanese spec. Z's as THIS U.S. E-bayer's factory photo/brochure show's them as an afterthought as has been suggested on the lower side of the front bumper/fender

But I noticed that the /\ E-Bay photo is showing the steering wheel on the Right-hand side and the wiper arm spindle pins and arms to suit the RHD configuration too (Vehicle to be driven on LHS of the road) possibly for the Japanese market (Being a Factory photo) !

So why is the (Green Z/GT) is being assumed/suggested to be for the Japanese market as the steering wheel is on the LHS (For a vehicle to be driven on the RHS of the road) IIRC they drive on the LHS of the road as we in the UK !

At least it's not sporting the stupid 'Bull-bar' and thus after all these years I've just twigged/spotted why the UK market Z600's front bumper had the Grey plastic blanking plug's adjacent to the side light/indicator's,
(It's got the same basic bumper/fender as used for the 'Bull-Bar' type) !

But what's you view on the super loooong stemmed wing mirror's on the E-Bay seller's factory photo ?

Who said it was for the JP market? This model with the 600 cc engine was produced for export only, but not for the UK, I presume.

Of course I do keep a couple of spares for the XM. A full set of Etoile rims and half a set of Monte Carlo ones. A box full of electronic modules that I'll probably never need, a water pump, an air conditioning ECU with 2 control panels and an indicator switch :D

I think the photo is Jap spec - the original - the olive green one is US Spec and the orange one in my ad a British one - I assume all the changes are to suit local laws and conditions. Given the choice, I would go for the Jap version all day long!

For example, the reason the Frogeye Sprite is a frogeye is to suit US lighting laws. Berkeleys were also imported to the USA with bug eyes too to satisfy local conditions.

I guess you can go get XM spares easily, even in Japan, but with a car where less than forty remain in the country, one takes what one can get when one can get it. I once had a Powerdrive - one of only twenty-six made and one of five remaining - mine was the only roadworthy one and my mum has an Allard, of which they only made 70 of the model she has.

As an aside, I love japan - been to Muroran, Nagasaki, Kyoto and Osaka.
