Wanted: Fuel Pump for petrol turbo

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Strange how my symptons dont show up till car temp is nearly norm, so Ive just ordered the control module (an easy find once directed lol) and a coil (told the coil pack was weakish but not the fault at one garage) and the vendor on e-bay (Mendip Ent Ltd aka Rapid Car Parts UK) shows both in stock, just awaiting part # and reg # confirmation check so probably looking at Tuesday for parts if they match.

Still waiting for my next day delivery of fuel and air filter that I paid extra for  .

Once again guys, thanks for the info :) ,
Will let you know the results.

The fuel filter is about the size of a coke can and is located on top of the rear subframe on the drivers side just inside of thee rear wheel and is secured by a large rubber strap, if you jack the car up at the back you should be able peer up under and see it.

Ok, I have spent ages crawling under the rear end and around my fuel tank, I cannot, for the life of me, locate this bleedin fuel filter, now the book says its there and shows some close up pictures, Dean says its there, my local guru says theres one there, but admittedly he says he usually only works on diesels and hasnt done one on a petrol as yet.

Can anyone with a late 2ltr turbo mk2 please confirm this or is it hiding elsewhere? :?

Ive changed the coil pack, ign cables, ign module, fuel relay, even the air filter and still shes cutting out like fuel starvation, this lasts much longer and it will be me doing the starvation after 2 weeks off the road :(

Thanks
Brian

Another fruitless search, after another hour wasted :( I asked my guru to do a house call, he went under her, said "its not where its supposed to be, lets strip her down", so off came the spare wheel, spare wheel carrier and dropped the rear exhaust, then...then..., and only then, could we find that rarest of breeds, the sodding fuel filter, it was hiding on the subframe behind a thick heat shield just big enough to hide it, my guru, Graham Lauder of Symington Ayrshire, earned my gratitude this day as I was getting close to losing it.

Ten minutes later it was swapped out and the rest put back where it belonged, there is no way it is visual on my car by just jacking up the car and looking up behind/front of the drivers rear wheel. A ten mile test drive and no problems (apart from my usual erratic anti freeze leak that hits my non operating turbo which sometimes makes my car look like the engines on fire  but thats another project ;) )

That filter cannister was french made, the fuel line clamps were OEM and well fitted so its probably the original from 1998, and the previouse owner serviced it religiously Ive had the car garage serviced around five times between 04 and 09, took it for granted it was changed, should have known better

I cut the filter open and it was black all around, so lets hope that was it, a £7 part cost me around £650 in lost wages, £120 in parts, £120 in recovery charges and a well earned and cheap £40 quid for my guru who actually got out of his sick bed to help.

So thanks one and all for your help and guidance, makes me wanna get my trike built and on the road so I will have a back up vehicle in future.
Next breakdown  (well its started now hasnt it) its towed straight to the gurus house for me :D

Thanks again
Brian
