Selling off one (or bits

) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

I have a few of your other items in my ebay watch list, I just need to pick between them
Yes, i think you were chatting at the time, Il catch up with you at the next CCC event
Thanks, I am quite fond of the V6 Xantia now, though I will have to get another XM at some point

Sorry Chris to have missed you. Will have to meet at the next event for sure.
Happy choosing on ebay! it's all good.
Well Matthew has a very nice V6......Mind you I wouldn't mind it too. My SED is misbehaving. Quite an extreme response though to buy a V6 in spite!!

I would very much like Matthews V6, that is a hugely appealing car. There are too many cars here at the moment though.
What is your SED throwing tantrums about?

Brakes Chris, Brakes.....On the way home from CXM, the font o/s brakes started to bind. Anyway investigations led to old discs with a healthy lip. Also suspecting dodgy caliper or Doseur valve linkage. Even though they were 'sorted out' only months ago by a Citroen specialist. Anyway, all was going well today, until the caliper piston would not slide in. All posted in the Hydraulic section. So it is sitting outside the garage with the old disc back on and one pad in the caliper, with it's tail between it's ....well rear wheels!
The rear anti roll bar seems to be starting to seize up too, due to the graunching sound it made today.
Mightly cheesed off really! Doesn't really help compiling a to do list either. I stopped at 20!
I think this is what XM owners call typical ownership experience.

I'm surprised you haven't made the artwork as vector - you may as well have done as the
posterised effect with pure solid colour lends itself to this. Different means to the same ends.
My take uses pen, marker and ground pastel as I'm oldskool!

Well they kind of are Vector based. I use paths ect to create the images. I just can't stand using illustrator, so I use Photoshop instead. I simply find it easier to use. It's also what we were taught to use at uni and what the automotive industry uses to illustrate new concept designs.
I still have all my marker pens. The smell is amazing if used in a confined space. Get quite heady!
We were taught how to use pastels and markers in our first year at Coventry, then to get the professional slick look, we all progressed to Photoshop. Even then there is a different technique to using markers. Plus you have the brilliant invention of an undo button!
Using a computer must have saved me a fortune in pens and marker pads. Marker pens were about £5 each and pads near £10.
So Andrew have you got anything to show. Would love to see your artwork!

That is a bit annoying but things could be worse, brakes are not usually too bad to sort out.
The brakes on one of our XMs stuck on at one point. I first thought it was just the fronts and could not work out why both front ones would stick on. After taking them apart all seemed fine and free. It was at this point that I tried to spin a rear wheel and noticed that was binding too. It was the brake linkage which is located beneith the scuttle that had seized up.
It might be worth checking on yours, as that would explain why they both stuck at once and also why you cant wind back the pistons.
Good luck with it

Cheers Chris - this is Russ' show not mine though.
I much prefer the loose more cartoony stuff with soft pencil crayon now.
The number of times I wished there was an undo last command button!!

Lovely drawings Andrew.
A proper skill using markers and pastels. This is exactly what I was doing.... once. They have a nice quality about them too. Love em. And why aren't they framed and hung up on yer wall?!!
I find doing the headlights and getting realistic reflections one of the hardest bits to do.
I agree with the looser pencil drawings. It was part of the design process we had to follow. Start off with quite over the top, almost exaggerated concept sketches in either wax pencil, blue or black or black biro and then follow on to a bit of marker or pastel. But then Photoshop came along.
So what are you up to now then?
