XM Door Glass Required

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

If locked out of the car and not having access to the spare key, I would go for pulling the top of the door out and operating the window switch or interior door release.

As an aside, do people realise it is illegal to leave a car running without a qualified driver inside?

I'm sure plenty of us have jumped out of a car to open a gate/move an obstruction without giving that a second thought. Can't say that rule is going to make me change my behaviour either. I'd never walk away from a running car though and I'd suggest that in the eyes of the law, it's that walking away that constitutes leaving, not standing outside the car.

Better prehaps next time to break a main moving window!! Easyer to remove.. Easyer to replace and a few more about and quicker to remove from a door..

I can understand why someone would choose to break a small window rather than a big one. Bit of a panic on, I'd guess.
Paul's right, though, in terms of replaceability - go for the moving ones!
Hopefully it'll never happen again.

To be fair, that door has some rot in the bottom. A mutual friend has a complete spare door, which may be an idea (albeit that's a long way from the car!).

The door is looking a distinct possibility to be fair.

In terms of which window to break, I had my sleeping 20 month old son in the back and even breaking the quarter window, glass still managed to get over the passenger side of the car, never mind breaking the large window!

I will make some negotiations on the replacement door I think and go and collect this week as I really need this back on the road ASAP.
