1993 2.0sei turbo auto available! - Now Sold

Hi all.
I'm pleased so say after months searching for a nice XM, I've purchased this late S1 sei 2.0 from Matthew T! We had a lovely afternoon 'talking XM' before loading it on the trailer ready for its new home in Nottingham!
I've had a day fetling around with it this morning, gave it a good wash and polish and then put it to bed in the garage till the spring.
I'm looking forward to addressing the few minor issues and getting it back on the road for the season.
I'll open a new thread with progress, I'm sure i'll be asking lots of questions!
Looking forward to meeting everyone at the meets later this year.

To be honest, I am seriously inhibited by an arthritic ankle at the moment so I have decided to put a lid on anything very much to do with cars for the time being. If I hadn't i am sure I would be the new owner of a 1986, 24k, Renault 11 Auto I recently saw advertised - that was very, very tempting.

Having said that, I really do miss my XMs. We shall see what the future has to offer.

I have a 2.0 turbo vsx auto mk2 which someone kindly reversed into me when I was stationery and took the front bumper and lights off like a bacon slicer! I gassed the car (I used to do lpg conversions) which makes for very cheap motoring. I am keeping the car and will eventually, I hope, put it back on the road. Needless to say my insurance company want to give me very little so I wondered if you could let me know through a PM what you sold your delightful xm for. In the meantime I am hoping to get a Xantia V6 exclusive which I will also convert to lpg.

Many thanks for the enquiry and I was very sorry to hear about the damage to your car. I am happy to confirm that I received just less than my asking price of £850 for the 1993 XM. The car could perhaps have fetched more, perhaps £1,200?, with the defective water pump replaced and a few other minor niggles sorted, but I am sorry to say that even a top spec. S1 car with the more generally popular autobox has relatively modest value at present. Regards, Matthew T.
