Hi Dean

You think you will survive the explosion well enough to be a patient when SWMBO hears of your interest in another XM.
Still as it is a black one I guess you can hide under a big heap of coal.

i think its safe to say you would see the mushroom cloud on the horizon from your house if she found out i was looking at another car so soon after/during the V6 'incident' John.

The business i am in necessitates you use of 7.5t+ flat bed lorries with depots from norfolk down to the south and as far west as Redruth, if there is a way to get a car on i will get the guys to make a stop during the return to the local depot, i just get the depot that has collected the item to run an empty lorry over to collect goods from the island and with an empty lorry coming down i think its fair on the driver to add a ballast load, for driver comfort you understand.

I think that sort of mushroom cloud would be visible in Wiltshire...............!

Big pile of coal needed, sort that that you could build a house in...........

Let us know how it goes, ah, that won't be necessary, I'll just keep an eye on the Southern horizon

you jest Rob, but.

Ive not heard anything from the OP, not sure if anyone else enquired?
Im not falling over myself to get this car as i wouldnt be able to do anything with it and vehicles that dont run after sitting for a long time with declared rust can be troublesome and eye wateringly expensive to re-commission from experience.

A little rust also goes a long way too.

Still, IF the V6 conversion comes together ok over the next week and IF the ecu will work and IF there are no horrifc mechanical issues with the gearbox or engine once its running i may have the time to take another in and try and MOT it to move on to a potential loving home, if its not a total basket case and if the OP wants to let it go. cant really let a 24v go to scrap. I have no want for a 24v and certainly no desire to spend anything other than time, lube and welding rods on it thats for sure.

I enquired about it and I too have heard nothing from the OP.

I would put it back on the road after a serious restoration job.
