Re: Steering rack ram
It appears the ram for the S2 cars is not available seperately from the rack.
I have a Series 1 power ram available.

Re: Steering rack ram
I'm sure it's the same rack.. I know the pinion valves pipes connections are different but they are interchangeable.. I've put an S2 one on an early S1 car..

Re: Steering rack ram
Citroenxm
There are two separate sets posts on this ram both in sales and wants.
I replied about the differences in the original post.
Early Mk2 2.5's used the same rack and ram as Mk 1's but the track rods and track rod ends had larger M16 threads.
Outer ends of these larger thread track rods and track rod ends continued to use the same fixings and threads.
So as long as rod and end screw together you can fit that to any XM rack.
All the above racks use a long ram.
About 1996 Citroen started using a shorter ram on 2.5's and possibly other Mk 2's.
They fitted this shorter ram to the standard rack by adding a link spacer and a matching extra bolt.
If you supply a complete rack there should be no problems.
If you supply just a short ram include the link spacer and extra bolt if it is replacing a long ram.
Fitting just a ram in car is not an easy job.
My experience though is that the steel feed pipes when reconnected do not reseal properly and leak LHM.
The more I tightened the worse the leak got.
These short pipes have no rubber seal just metal faces and are very difficult to get to and work on.
In the end I made up new ones to pattern in CuNi pipe.
That gave enough flexibility to seat the pipe ends squarely though I had to do this fitting and shaping on a spare rack.
This 2.5 is likely to have an early type rack but is close to the change over point.
