Sounds like comfort spheres?
With a larger centre hole there is less damping in the sphere, so the suspension has less control. For a better ride but the same control more pressure is needed in the spheres.
When i got my C5 it was fitted with comfort spheres, fine when going slow but when going normal speeds it was really awful. Huge lack in control and the car was never settled, easily topped and bottomed on country roads and it was constantly joggling around and never still. Unlike the Xms where the wheels move but leave the body virtually still over bumps and bends.
With the correct spheres its better, still i dont fully rate its ride though, its more controled but it just doesnt have enough travel or feel.
Chris.
