£10,000 xm !!!

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Isn't a 2.1 going to feel awfully slow compared with a 2.0CT?
Yup, but 40 plus mpg from an auto, 45 plus from a manual, you can live with the lesser performance.

Hmmmm.. I dont think its that much slower, the ingear pull on my 2.1 SED, on a H 1991 plate, is very impressive!! A Damm sight betterthen any 1.9 XUD Xantia I have driven!!

The great thing about the 2.1 is you don't often need to change gear, it will pull down to tickover, almost as good as an auto box, makes driving a petrol one hard work. :D

I agree, we could talk torque all day with a 2.1 - even one down on power with a knackered HG

As with everything it's supply and demand. Obviously there are very few late 24v XM and a group of people who want them, hence the seemingly outragous pricing. Same with C6's. Very limited supply and a certain demand has meant that after the high initial depreciation the prices are remaining steady.

Of topic - having driven a 2.1td the car certainly makes the best of it's torque with good in gear get up. Driving a diesel now with very close to twice the torque, I still remember the 2.1td get up well.

Same with S1 24v V6's soo rare and S1 pureists useually want one.. :D

I agree the 2.1 still goes and tourques well, even when mine had gone completely between Cylinders 1 and 2 she still drove well from my mums to home 25 miles away! Lost no water or mixed oil...

Of course all fixed now...

Its certainly better than the BMW, anything below 2000 rpm and you measure the acceleration with a calender.

They are pretty deadly if caught in the wrong gear. At least one thing Peter...your left arm and leg will stay will stay well oiled and mobile after your trip to Scotland.

Yes with me it's more for the pure economy aspect,

I do love the Xm now , and then car iv'e got is lovley to drive, even though it has a slight hesitation on exheleration, and would not sell it unless it was for the dieisel Xm,

Going to Great Yarmouth on a regular basis , the company would not want the fuel bill for that trip, in a petrol , but have agreed to fund the trip in a deisel.

So i'm prepared to wait 'n' used the dreaded Xaferia, or what ever it's called until the right Xm comes along,

Hi Guys.

Might I make the obvious point that while the ad may have a 'sold' sticker on it, there's no saying what it actually made. I think you would have to put it away and forget about it for a good number of years to come out ahead, if it actually made near the asking price. If it's been bought to use, then someone is going to kiss a big proportion of their payment goodbye.

Mike.
