Re: N591YBL
In 1995/1996 there were at least 3 batches of block "N" registered PSA or Citroen cars.
I seem to recall that NxxxYBL was the 1 Jan 1996 block.
NxxxRAC was the 1 August 1995 block.
Think the third one was Apr 1996 and cannot now remember the registration.
Previous comments suggested that each batch was 999 vehicles and covered the Citroen range then in production.
This was the time when there was a large overproduction of RHD Mk2 XM's to be sold.
Checks on some XM cars of this age by ORGA numbers have shown up to 2 years between build date and registration.
I think there were also 2 batches of "M" reg block booked numbers.

Re: N591YBL
I'm sure you are right John, the reason I have bought YBL's is because they were the last batch of 2.1 manuals with mechanical fuel injection. There were very few manuals registered after Jan '96 and I believe they were all fitted with the EPIC system.

Re: N591YBL
When was it registered Mike, my guess is February. The latest one I had was 497, that was mechanical but it had a keypad, none of the others have.
I have a green bonnet but its a bit bent, don't know about the windscreen trim, will have a look.

Re: N591YBL
Orga no. says it was 9 October 1995
Registered in Feb 96. It has a keypad.
I'm in Edinburgh.
The lacquer is coming off both sides of the bonnet. Its Forest Green which is darker than the usual XM green, more like british racing green.
Cheers

Re: N591YBL
If the only problem is lacquer peel then just spray with fresh lacquer after gently sanding back. Even if the new lacquer is a poor finish it doesn't matter as it can be polished up to a shine.

Re: N591YBL
How do you peel it all off?
There was water under the lacquer so I peeled it back as far as could and sanded it and sprayed it with lacquer again but it didn't stay sound for very long and more water got under it and froze and it's worse than ever. Is there an easy way to get it all off?
I'll have a look for the paint code tomorrow
Incidently I know where the missing bit of windscreen trim is, it's on central reservation of the M8, impossible to get too!
Cheers

Re: N591YBL
You don't need to peel it all off, a sand back and degrease should provide a good key for the new lacquer.

Re: N591YBL
I've looked back and the colour of the car I know about is ERTM. I'm not sure if that is Triton or Forest green.
Jorgy's car is ERYC, which I always thought was Emerald, but may actually be Forest. The M or C at the end denoted Metallic or pearlescent paint
I've just checked and ERTM is definitely Triton green and ERYC is definitely Emerald.
The only listing I can find for Forest Green isn't until Yr2000, paint codes 8L or KSL
