This is about what I thought it'd fetch. I have spoken to the new owner already and he sounds like a great bloke who will care for this car.

I genuinely feel these prices will rise over the next couple of years but hope not so high that enthusiasts are afraid to use them.

I'm surprised you didn't run the auction for longer, I'm confident you would have achieved a higher price.

Ebay is usually rarther cruel to used car prices and certainly sets a level, so to see such interest definitely indicates that XM are now desired and prices are indeed rising.

Its a good point, a longer auction would have given time for the word to spread and allow plenty of time for inspections/test drives.
Even so its a good result.

I tend to agree that prices are rising - but only for good quality, desirable stuff. This is a one off motor molly-coddled to the n'th degree. A similar ordinary everyday car wouldn't make £500.

What this one would have made without the one on the front of the mileage - well who knows . . .

After Thursday, I won't be here so it needed to be advertised and sold pretty quickly.

Also, ending an auction on a Sunday means more people have time to look. And bid!
